As for work, it was dead. I was Thanksgiving today, so all the sensible people were at home. I thankfully didn't get stuck on drive-through, but even if I had, it wouldnt've been too bad, because we had, oh, maybe 15 cars from 9 'till 2 :p No cars in the last hour at all, actually. I let Ange play NES games on my PSP, because she actually didn't seem that interested in going out to smoke tonight, and other than that, the biggest hangups were bagging Bertha (a big metal bin that sits under the bar the food goes on to catch anything that gets dropped), deckscrubbing, and taking down line at the end of the night. It was still a sweet shift though, and a nice entry to my next day off, which is today. I think I've got to be back in for 8 on Wednesday, but I'll have to call to make sure, and then I know I have to close up 'till I think Saturday. Not bad, really.
One thing I did when I got in tonight was looked at the close reports, to see if the one for Saturday was there, but it wasn't so I assume we did a good enough job that the opening manager saw no need to write one. Yay. However, I did notice the one for Sunday night. Apparently, the dining room was not done at all, the thermalizers weren't cleaned, torts weren't pulled, and one other thing I can't remember. Honestly though, from what I heard, it was Ange, Josh, and Josh T closing last night. You can cut Josh T a bit of slack because he hasn't really closed a whole lot yet, but Josh and Ange are managers, and yet they didn't do all that stuff! I'm honestly glad I had last night off now.
Anyways, yeah, today was Thanksgiving. Really just another ordinary day for us, unless you consider the turkey dinner part. I got out of bed about 3, did a bit of stuff on the computer, then played Okami until we were ready to eat. Two people that I think are from church were there, but that isn't really suprising, considering we usually have company over on occasions like that. I love this time of the year. Starting with Thanksgiving, there are several things spread out over a couple months or so, that are fun to look forward to. Right now, it's Halloween. Not that we're going to be doing anything special, but still, it's a "special day". After that, it's my brother's birthday, on November 16th, and I'll be especially looking forward to that this year, considering that's a couple days before or after the Wii comes out. After that, it's my birthday on December 13th, then Christmas, and finally New Year's eve / day. After that, it's back into the ho-hum time of year, until September rolls around once again.
Thankfully we didn't have to go through the stupid "what are you thankful for" charade at the table again. If you ask me, I can be thankful for something any time I want. Not just on one specific day :x
Bleh... I'm debating whether or not I should go to volunteering tomorrow. I want to say "yes", because I didn't go the second day I was supposed to last week, and the volunteer flyer still isn't finished (in my defense, we only have to change a picture on it, and it's done), and I also want to say "no" because it's going to be probably 6 before I get to bed, and it'll be hell getting up at 12. Josh also mentioned doing something tomorrow, which has got me on edge. I can see him wanting me to go to his house, but I'd rather stay here. I just don't know the right way to tell him that. Like, he's my friend and all, but the past several times we've done something together, it's always been at his house, for some reason or another. Last time anything like that happened, it was during the summer, and he came in here, sat down, and said "phew, it's definitely going to be my house tonight - it's too hot here". We'll have to see how things go though.
Anyways, for now, I'm going to do a couple more things on here, and then I'm going to go play a game - I'm sure you can guess which ;)
