On Last Night's Shift

Screw you, whoever changed the schedule. All to hell. I'd magically been changed from 8 - 2 to 8 - 3. Aside from the "It just makes sense" excuse, there's no reason they should've done so without asking me. What was it? Any time up to 24 hours before the shift in question was when they could change my schedule without asking? We ended up being there 'till 3 anyways, because things picked up right before 2, especially up to about 5 minutes before, in an excellent display by Michelle.

A car was on the speaker, so she said it'd be the last one, and it turned out to be the guy who regularly comes through to get two bean burritos and whatnot, so I thought nothing of it. Then as he was pulling away, another car pulled up to the speaker. I said, out loud "Tough luck for them", and Michelle told Josh to wave them up to the window, so I assumed they were going to tell them we were closed. No. She walks back from the car and says something about "Combo 3...", so I started getting a bit pissed off, but still made the food, and yet another car pulled in after them, that we served as well, before I finally noticed that it was 2:00, and looked up at the lights in drive through to see that there was another car waiting, and said "Well, we're closed. Too bad." They waved the guy up to the window, told him that, and he sped off all angry-like. Seriously. It's 2 in the morning and you can't get Taco Bell. Oh no! Go home and make yourself something to eat, moron.

And as for what Michelle did, I can understand it, from the point of view that we are supposed to stay open 'till 2 (or 3 or 4), even though we usually close 5 or 10 minutes early, but in cases like that, we close early to give us that little bit of extra time to get things done. Is that too much to ask?

So one more close tonight, with Michelle, Josh C., Steve, and me. I jokingly said to Michelle last night "So I'm going to hazard a guess that Steve's not going to be on drive through tonight?", and the answer was no. Apparently he hasn't been written up for the stunt he pulled either, which is pathetic. Especially after hearing the other closers' side of the story.

They say Ange and Michelle were on line, Manoah was off sweeping, and Josh C. was in the bathroom. That and there were only two or three cars in line, and there were three orders ready down in drive through. So you're telling me, Steve, that you left because you couldn't get help on one of the easiest jobs in the store, when you weren't even wrapped, at that? I don't care how old you are. Grow up.

And apparently we're going grocery shopping right now as well, so this will have to be continued later. Plan on staying up and...

Ooo. Just got an email from SPark. Managed to catch "It's done! Just in time to go in the mail tomorrow..." along with an attachment named "giant2.jpg". I know what it is. I don't want to look ;_; I don't want to ruin the fun of opening it and seeing it for the first time in two weeks or so, but still...

... but as I was saying, I plan on staying up and going to McDonalds for breakfast again. I hate to see it become a regular thing (for a couple reasons), but what better way to begin a day off :3
