Just a Few Things...

Josh called from work earlier this evening. Wanted to know if I'd seen the power cord for his DS anywhere around here, because he couldn't find it at his house. I know for a fact I gave it to him before he left last time he was here, so I told him no. Then he asked if I was going to the Christmas party this year, because his Mom was making the schedule up that that day falls on. I told him I really didn't know, then he said something about how I'd booked the 13th off. Well of course. It's my birthday :p I honestly can't say I have any out-of-the-ordinary plans for that night, but Josh clued in on what day it was, so next thing I knew, I could hear him asking Shelia to give him the 13th off as well. Bah. I have some very unsettling ideas about what we might do that night, but come what may, I guess. He's going to have to find out one of the big things about me sooner or later, and I'd rather it be somewhere where we're face to face, in private. I know I said countless times before that I'd rather tell him what's going on in an email, but that really doesn't seem appropriate anymore. Time will tell, I guess.

Anyways, I told him I didn't know if I was going to the Christmas party, so he told me to check, and give them a call back. I phoned them about 10 minutes later, and said that yes I would be there. I figure it's $20, which isn't bad. It just means that one of these weekends coming up I'll have to go without a trip to 7-11 or Sobeys :x Even if I pay the money though, I don't know if I'm actually going to go to the party or not. Last year I was there to eat, then for about an hour afterwards, before I headed out into the lobby to phone for a ride home (it was at Country View Golf Course last year, and I'm pretty sure it's the same this time). Either I'm going to just go for the meal this year, then go home, or I'm just not going to go at all. Yeah, it's really stupid to be paying twenty bucks to get out of working one night, but it's too late to turn things back now.

Next, I got new speakers today. These ones. There's nothing really to note about them right now, except that they're much better than the old speakers we had. It's really funny. Aside from the computer itself, we've been using the same computer equipment for nearly 10 years. It really doesn't seem like that long, but it is. Wow :o What's more, the keyboard and mouse were the only things that really needed replacing. I might very well be getting a new computer next month too :s

The only other thing I have to write about right now involves something I saw on the way to Staples. Who made the sign for the Lucky Inn? How many comments have they gotten about it's spelling? Why haven't they changed / fixed it yet? It's spelled, on the sign "Lucky In". What's the lucky in? How to you put lucky in something anyways? GG people, learn you some grammars :p Heh... interesting. I just got to searching to see if "Lucky In" had a website, and instead I found some restaurant review site, with basically good things to say about that place, but then I took a look at the map, and noticed that they had The Cajun Pepper rated pretty poorly. We're going there for Heart and Stroke's Christmas party, so I figured I'd take a look at what people had to say.

It seems most complaints have to do with the refusal to take anything off the food, "for appearance". Right away, WTF? Why are you even bothering to serve food to people, when you're so concerned about it's appearance that you won't even take certain items off? Honestly, the extent of my experience with that sort of thing was when some guy came through the drive through at Taco Bell before, and wanted a Double Decker Taco with beef instead of the bean. Normally, we shouldn't do that, because then there's nothing to hold the taco shell and tort together, but someone just came down to the window, and let the guy know that it wouldn't stay together, and he was fine with that. They're paying for it, so it's not as if we can refuse them.

Anyways, as for the reviews of the other place, one far-fetched theory came to mind. What if the real cause behind the refusal to take whatever off the food was that the food came pre-made? Yeah, that's next to impossible, but it still could happen. So we're going there on the 19th. Thank God it's about 5 minutes from our house. If things don't work out, I'll just head into 7-11 (it's right next door) to get something to eat, and go home :) I really should show the reviews to Michele though, but I can't help but think that if I do, it'll ruin all the plans. Whatever. I'll keep my mouth shut for now I guess.

Anyways, I think that's about it. I want to be up at 10 to call EB Games to see if they got any more Wii shipments, and if they don't, eh, I don't know. Either I'll go back to bed, or just stay up and go to Heart and Stroke at 1.

For now though, I'm having a shower (maybe) and going to bed.

More Dreams...

It was the day of Taco Bell's Christmas party, and for some reason, everyone in our family was coming along, but there was still an hour or so left before we had to be there, so I asked Mom if we could quickly run up to EB Games to see if I could get a Wii. For some reason I knew for a fact that they had them, so I was really in a hurry to get up there. She consented, after a bit of thinking, so I ran into the house, up to my room, and unlocked the little box I have my money in. The envelope was in there, already opened, with no money inside. I ran out into the hallway, grabbed Naomi by the hair, and screamed "WHERE'S MY MONEY!?" at her. She stuttered a bit, then said something about how Sarah took it. For some reason, I assumed it was Sarah from Taco Bell, so I ran downstairs to the computer, and tried to find her phone number, but I couldn't. I just wasn't able to type properly, or the sites wouldn't load or something. Eventually I gave up on that and demanded to know where Sarah had gone with it, and Naomi said something about how she'd told her "Get a deposit before they come back." Then I woke up, and I could tell that it was a dream, and not real, but it got me to thinking, I really should deposit that money. It's just not safe sitting around here. Then, once again though, if I did, when the time came that I actually had a use for it, I'd have to up and withdraw it from the bank again. I don't know.

Anyways, I pretty much just woke up, yes. I know I said I was going to be up at 10 to phone EB Games, but I woke up around 9:30, and found that my alarm clock hadn't gone off at 9, so I just turned off my DS (since I had the alarm set on it as well), and went back to sleep. I just phoned them when I woke up as well, and simply got told "No we do not." All it takes is giving them one phone call every day, and I think I can manage that.

So yeah, today's my second day off in the two I have right now. I work tomorrow at 7, and I also am going volunteering tomorrow as well, so I probably won't be able to stay up as late as I'd like tonight, but we'll see. I'm thinking of heading to Taco Bell for supper (through the drive through, of course), but other than that, I don't know what I'm gonna do.

That's about all for now though.

Edit: So Mom just got home, and got on the phone with the bookstore at the mall, to see if they had some "Politically Correct Bedtime Stories". Apparently Naomi wants it for a Christmas present or somesuch. Whatever. What's funny is that I googled it, an the first result was a page for it on amazon.com. Within a few minutes, we had it ordered, when you think back to last year, how she utterly refused to order someone's gift online because it was "unsafe" :p There's some pretty sweet looking stuff on there that I might ask her if she'll order for me, provided I pay her back. I don't know why she'd say no, but there's no way to tell without asking.
