It's (finally) Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas

... because of all the snow outside :s It'd better stay there as well. Either that, or hopefully tomorrow sees us get a lot more of it.

Anyways, let me explain my mood. Tonight was my last shift with Kevin (although technically his last day is tomorrow), and I'll miss him. I know I've already explained why before, but to reiterate, he knew how to have fun, he always got things cleaned up quickly, he didn't smoke, and he wasn't afraid to speak his mind. That's actually one of the main reasons he quit, as he said on the way home tonight. All of the BS involving smoke breaks there. Smokers get to go out on a break pretty much whenever they feel like it, and the people that don't never get to go out for so much as five minutes to sit down. The main reason I'm going to miss Kevin is because of the cleaning though. When me and him were on a shift together, we'd be able to get the store cleaned up inside of an hour, regardless of what state it was in. Really, on a whole, it could be summed up with the simple phrase "Work now, have fun later". I don't know about the other people there, but I find it next to impossible to go out and relax when there's still stuff to be done. That's also one of the reasons I go so stressed out and pissed off about being on drive through. There was lots of stuff to do, but being where I was, I never had the chance to do any of it. When there weren't any cars, I had to wash dishes, otherwise, I was down taking orders and cash.

That's one of the good things now though. Since he's gone, I'm now the main steamer on nights. That's not to say I'll never be on drive through again, but where I might've been on it three or four times a week before, I'll now only be on it once or twice. It will take some getting used to, but in the long run, I think it's going to be worth it.

Seriously though, I don't know how much longer I'm going to be there either. Kevin asked me that on the way home, and I said probably until the end of winter. I don't want to be there for another summer, because that was hell the first time around. Apparently YA's still hiring, so I could apply there, but I can't see myself liking a job where you're on the phone all day long. I find it hard enough to keep on track at Heart and Stroke. What I really want to find is a job where I'm up and active most of the time, but where it's not extremely busy either. Anyways, I'm really bringing myself down with all of this, so time to move on.

Work tonight was pretty good. Walked in, and Josh was in my face about how Karry's name was getting put on drive through, and mine was going on front cash or something, because they bought a new freezer today, and they needed to do a "Paid Out" for it or something. As soon as Glenda walked in though, Josh told her that as well, then she said something about how the people there were idiots for needing to do such a thing, so Josh got all pissy, went down and put my name on drive through for some reason, even though I wasn't clocked in, so I started getting angry as well, because I was hoping to not have to be on drive through two nights in a row. As it turned out though, Kevin got put on it, and he didn't seem to mind, so that worked out.

We weren't terribly busy, and things were pretty much done, because they'd been dead for pretty much the rest of the day, because of all the snow that was coming down. The only really annoying point of the night was the very last order. At first, the lady wanted three chicken quesadillas, but since the grill had already been cleaned and turned off for the night, we couldn't make them. Instead, she ended up getting a combo 1, two chicken soft tacos, two chicken burrito supremes, and a fry supreme. She ended up spending over twenty dollars on something that would've only cost her around $15, had the grill been on.

I've got the next two days off now, and I plan on having them off. Not being called in. Apparently both Shelia and Earl are on for supper tomorrow night, as is Kevin, and stories were being told tonight about how they both have bad habits of disappearing when things get busy. Kevin's already said that if that happens tomorrow, he's going to walk out. I only wish I was there to see it happen :) If he does though, they're obviously going to try to call someone in, and as far as I'm concerned, they're not getting me. I've been waiting for these days off for over almost an entire week now, so they're not going to be ruined.

I think that'll be it for now though :p

That was a Nice Change...

I ended up staying down here 'till about 7:30, then went upstairs, because I was really bored down here. I brought the phone with me though, because I planned on just watching a movie on my PSP, then phoning EB Games at 10. Joe Dirt was my movie of choice, and I ended up getting about halfway through it before I was just too tired to watch anymore. I set my DS to go off at 10 though, so I figured that way I'd still be able to wake up then, and phone them. At 10, it went off, so still being half asleep, I fumbled with my DS trying to shut the alarm off, then realized why I'd set it in the first place so I picked up the phone, and gave them a call. This time, the guy that picked up just answered with "EB Games". Usually they say "EB Games Chatham, where you can trade and save. This is <...> speaking. How can I help you?" They still didn't have any today, which is a letdown, but at the time, I was more glad that I could go right back to sleep. Of course, if they had received some today, I probably would've been up and dressed in a flash, then off to find Dad to get a ride out there :p

After I went back to sleep though, I slept 'till 4 in the afternoon, then drifted back in and out of sleep 'till 5. We just went to Subway for supper, and now I've been informed I have to do the dishes tonight. Bah. One thing I do want to do tonight is go out to Dairy Queen to get something special. In the past, we've only gone there on the rarest of occasions, and even then, we were limited in what we could get by how much whoever brought us was willing to pay. Now that I have money of my own, I can get what I want. So I'll either ask to go out there after I get done doing the dishes, or when we go to pick Dad up. For the latter though, it would take us a good distance out of our way, and Dad likely wouldn't be too pleased about that.

As for work, nobody's phoned yet, and Kevin's only there for another hour, so I can assume things are going at least somewhat as they should. One relieving fact came up last night though. Jerome, who was supposed to be moving to London, has made a change in his plans now. Apparently a friend of a friend is moving in with them or something, and he can't stand the guy, so he's opted to stay here. It is a big decision, so it's likely that it's not final yet, but it'd really be helpful to still have him on nights. Apparently he's closing all weekend, and he already said as well last night that he's probably going to be having me steam all those nights, so at least I won't have to worry about getting put on drive through.

Anyways, Taco Bell hasn't called yet, so I'm assuming that tonight will be the first night in a while where I've had a day off and not been called in :x I'm going to end this here though, because it's just been sitting at the above all afternoon, and I'd like to update it before I start a completely new one :s
