Click this link, and watch the video, assuming you haven't already seen it (I just saw it in my feed for del.icio.us, so... *shrug*). To be completely honest, listening to the first, half, I thought "This sounds sort of like the American national anthem..." (highlight to read). Something about the pitch of the notes, I guess. Then it started playing "properly" again, and my thoughts switched to "Hey, I was right ^^". Although I have to say that is pretty neat. I've heard songs played backwards before (the whole "backmasking" thing), but never anyone *singing* it backwards that, when played forwards was still audible / legible.
Fairly busy tonight. Was steaming mostly, until Josh got there, then he went to Bulk Barn or something, then came back and chatted with Michelle while she was doing sour cream, followed by me telling him that he could take over line (at that point it was almost 9:30), then I just did the dining room and other random stuff 'till 11. One fun thing was before my shift actually started, they (being Steve and Markie) made Stephen (a new guy) water the plants in the dining room :p Joe went home sick around 10 though, and of course, Josh came up to me while I was sweeping the dining room and asked if I'd stay later, because I was the only one they hadn't asked (keep in mind I hadn't seen him so much as pick up the phone). Said "No", and told Joe it was nothing against him, but shifts where I get to leave early are far and few between, so I like to take them when I'm given the chance.
Also, there's a note on the board at the back that says something to the effect of "The radio is to be turned off at midnight, as per Earl Murphy". Simple response: no. Who is going to find out? According to Steve, that's there because someone ratted Josh out about him having his van pulled right up to the back door last night so he could use his iPod FM transmitter thing. The only other employees on that shift besides me were Josh and Cindy. Unless I wrote something about it in here, and someone saw that and went to Earl about it (which I'd like to think is highly unlikely), Cindy ratted him out, and he *did* say that someone had already come to him and apologized for that :\
There's also another note about how cellphones are to be left at home now, but I'm obviously not worried about that. Although I suppose you could say it's that as long as new rules don't directly apply to me, I don't care about them :s Earl was quite adamant about me telling customers "The condiment stand is right behind you / Have a nice night, and come again soon", because I was supposed to be expediting, but I did not say it so much as once. I think ga"Come again soon" is alright, but it really should be left 'till the customers are walking out the door, but the other thing seems like a waste of time. I'm pretty sure I've said it before, but half the customers grab their condiments before they're already, and three quarters of the remaining group wait 'till they have their order, so they can put that stuff on their tray or in their bag. As for the other quarter, what's to stop them from just saying "Can I get hot sauce / ketchup / a fork / whatever else"? All you have to say in that case is "Everything's right back there." Simple, easy, and hardly as condescending / a waste of time as pointing it out to *everyone*.
Oh, and also, Pat and Ted (I think) stopped by to, according to Josh, watch "The monkey cleaning the dining room." Apparently it was more fun than going to the zoo or something :s They're old friends from high school though, so I really don't mind that comment, but why can it never be the right animal? ;_;
Ran into Seth on the way home too, standing outside that "Café Bean" place across from Canada Trust, so we talked for a bit. All I can remember now is him saying something about me only wearing a t-shirt, then a guy in a pair of dress pants and a business shirt ran by, which led to something about wearing those ridiculously long boots instead of pants :s But he told me to add him to my MSN, so I did, but either I have the wrong address, or he's just offline still. Meh. Random question though: why does Pidgin automatically block any new "buddies" I add? It's strange... But now I have three :3 One of whom I'd like to say "*poke*" to (you know who you are), but meh. Take your time. I see that "61 hours @ work this week & counting" thing there, so I really don't want to rush you.
Otherwise, well, yeah. I have tomorrow off, then work straight 8 - closes 'till Friday, as I know I've already said once. Yay. My main concern is still getting P2P receipting at Heart and Stroke done though. Once that's out of the way, I *hope* Michele will just say "Take the rest of the spring / summer off, and call or email me in September so we can figure out when you're going to come in again."
Anyways, I'm getting quite tired, so it's time for bed~ Perhaps I'll actually sleep in longer than normal tomorrow :3
