I Almost Don't Like Having Days Off

For it seems the more I enjoy not having to work on those days, the greater the chances of something having changed at work are. In this case, Sheila and / or Earl have gone back to making deployment for the closers, because last time one of those secret customers / shoppers / whatever came through, our "score" ended up being less than 50%, and they feel that will allow them to figure out who isn't following the rules laid out for serving customers. The only thing I don't understand is why we (the closers) are being affected by it. The reports that indicate how we did the past times they came through have the time frame of the visit, and there has yet to be one for later than 7pm. Although now that I've said that, the next time one of them comes in will be later at night, but I'll worry about that when the time comes.

Also, another work-related observation. Last week, I was scheduled to work eight days in a row. This week, I've just had three off, followed by a close yesterday night, and tonight as well, then have three more days off after this, am back to close on Monday and Tuesday, and have another two days off after that. Following those, I close until the end of the last schedule that's up, but yeah. Here I am thinking I'm going to be paid more than normal, and end up having almost as many days off as I worked. Manoah still might call me on Saturday though, so even a couple hours there will help, and would work out well for one other reason too.

As for today, I had figured we would have gone grocery shopping earlier, but Mom took Naomi because she never got to go after the accident last week. Sure enough, there were a couple things I wanted to pick up, but getting them next week should still leave plenty of time. That's rather appropriate, considering I have next Thursday off.

They are back now though, so I'm off to see if there's anything down there (aside from cereal) to have for a quick snack (and as for that card in the mail, I'm getting to it - don't want to ruin the surprise and all that)~
