On another random tangent, I was in the shower about half an hour ago, and although I can't figure out why it came to mind, all I was thinking about was MFF, primarily having to ask how to turn on the shower the first morning of the con <3 Then there was also learning the use of the plastic shower curtain, and summarily having to wipe water off the floor when I got out. More embarrassing than anything at the time, but right now, fun and silly memories. Not to say we don't have one of those curtains on our shower at home, but I never really thought of it as being important before that.
Where normal stuff is concerned, today has been generally weird, because I was in a terrible mood when I went to bed then woke up later, but that got better when I realized I was over thinking the issue too much (something on fmylife.com), so I ended up using the afternoon to start reinstalling XP, then at 9 went out to Shoppers and Via Rail, and by the time I got home it was almost 10, so I continued reinstalling and customizing things on this laptop (there truly is alot of work that goes into getting it the way I like), then somewhere along that line decided I wanted to downgrade my PSP's firmware to 3.90 to use a custom theme I found, but there turned out to be a version for 5.00 (which is what I have), so I installed that, then had to find a flash0 version (otherwise the theme won't load if the memory stick isn't inserted), and had to make attempts at customizing that for a while (long story), and yeah. It's been a full night, if a bit disorganized, but there's nothing wrong with that :3
As for last night at work, it was busy because, according to Steve, there was a concert in Sarnia, but it's also Summer so busyness isn't an uncommon thing. More interestingly, Ang (the short form of her name apparently does not have an "e" in it) came in without being in uniform again, saying she had a surprise for Mel, but would have to take it back to the pound when Mel told her she was busy, but Ang figured she'd just stay standing at front cash, so I told her "I'd strongly suggest you go to the back", which was answered with "Why?" from her. Because, Ang, you're not in uniform nor are you scheduled to work right now, and this is not your home, so you have no business being here. Her final remark was something like "Doesn't look like you have a black shirt" (accompanied with a scowl), but she went to the back anyways. What's better, when she first came in, Manoah told Steve "This isn't happening. You'd better say something", and Steve, being as much of a patsy as he usually is, said nothing whatsoever. Melissa ended up having to come back at midnight to bring us some more Pepsi, so Manoah spoke to her about that and presumably several other things for a good hour, and hopefully it will stop because of their talk, but if it doesn't, I'm tired of it. I don't care anymore about trying to stay on everybody's good side. The only rule I don't follow regularly is having my shirt tucked in, so if they want to try and get revenge by telling her that, please, go ahead. What's worse? Being in proper uniform, but not having your shirt tucked in, or being in the back of the store when you're not working, and in your street clothes to boot?
Then in regards to maybe talking with Melissa privately on Monday, if I do get that chance, I'm just going to ask her about Steve, and what times she'll allow us to do certain things at night, lest I take on Ang's previous mentality (when she was a manager) of thinking you have several orders of magnitude greater power and clout than you really do. I probably could have worked in a couple minutes with her last night, but I was either making orders or getting other stuff for line, but that's not a big deal right now. It was nice having tonight off, but I work tomorrow from 8 - midnight (as long as Steve doesn't ask me to stay, and / or accepts being told "No" without fuss), then I get Monday off as well (aside from the staff meeting), then work 8 - close again on Tuesday. The next schedule hadn't gone up last night either, so I really hope this one day on, one day off thing doesn't continue for the whole week.
I seem to be doing it again too. I completely stopped writing this entry for a good ten minutes to fiddle with the CSS required to change the font size and line spacing of the entry text, because I found a new font tonight that I quite like, and, coincidentally, is named after something furry-related. The name is Eurofurence, and it does quite well for a nice, readable font.
With that random remark I'm off to bed though, because the sun is coming up, and I've done pretty much everything I needed to now. Well, save for one last change (modifying the default colors of cmd.exe), but that's easy enough to do~
