The Shortest Half Hour

I figure it was 6:30 by the time I went to bed last night, so I set my alarm for 2:30, and laid down to fall asleep. When it went off, I was still feeling tired, so I set it ahead to 3, and laid down again. Not five seconds after doing that - or so it felt like - I could hear my alarm going off again, and opened my laptop, convincing myself that I hadn't properly set it ahead, or dreamed that I had done so instead. What did I find there, however, but the clock in the taskbar indicating that it was in fact 3pm. I obviously can't say I feel much more rested, but I can't go on sleeping for longer, as I want to write this before 4pm, because we'll be heading out to get groceries then, and I don't know how much time I'll have left before needing to leave for work afterward.

That said, I didn't write in here yesterday, so what happened? Too many new things, to be imprecise. I spent the first part of the day working on a project that I intend to surprise Dan with, as well as writing an email to Squeeze to respond to the message I received from her on here, and following that, put far too much time into making a list of baking ingredients for the next couple weeks, and from there, turning that into two different grocery lists - one for items to buy in Chatham, and one for things I will need in Toronto. I hope I have everything covered, both because they took long enough to make, and because I don't want to be in the middle of something only to have to run out to Giant Tiger or Sobeys. Also, it appears that I might have to work something out for the heavy cream. I thought each cheesecake pie required 1/2 cup, so I could just buy two of the small cartons, but it's actually only 1/4 cup, meaning one carton would be enough for all four, if I can find a container to put the remaining 1/2 cup in to take to Toronto. Outside of that, notable ingredients needed are the ~16 chocolate bars I will need to get at Dollarama, along with some candy / snacks, since those will be what I have as a treat when I get home from work tonight, and another energy drink so I have one extra, should I need it after work next Wednesday. All in all, things will cost a fair bit, but I'm pretty sure I won't need to spend more than $100 here or there, which is what I was hoping for. Close to it here, but hopefully not more than that. I ordered supper from Pizza Tonite yesterday too. By the time I finished making that list and writing it down on an index card, and realized that I hadn't eaten much else, I decided that it was late enough that I could justify not finding something else, and went downstairs for the phone. Instead of calling them right away, though, I sat down on the couch next to Cinnamon, and tried to sort out other files. The rest of the night from there was split between other miscellaneous tasks, and working on Mario no Super Picross, because I still want to have it done before I go away, and then was bedtime. I ended up playing Lumines some more first though, because I wasn't immediately tired enough. It was a decent day, but a full day, and as I told Squeeze upon waking up, I would like to continue talking to her, but it might be a couple days before I can respond, so I can get back on track with other things, and get used to the feeling of suddenly having more people to talk to. Well, minus Totts, for the moment, because she hasn't responded yet, but I presume that's because she's busy.

Otherwise, Mom just knocked on my door to say that it's time to go grocery shopping, so I ought to get ready now. When I get back, I think I will have another package of waffles, and finish level 8 of Mario no Super Picross. I still have more than enough to do, so what I really need right now is to specifically chose what to accomplish when~
