Work went amazingly well, although it was a bit of trouble at first. Walked in at 7, and after getting after me to tuck in my shirt, Earl told me to wash the dishes for "a couple minutes". An hour and a half later, I had them all caught up, except for the trays, which I planned on just leaving 'till 11, so I could make sure I was washing all of them at once. It worked out that I caught them up though, because I got put on drive through. As Jerome said though, it was mainly because Steve had been on it the night before, and he's known to complain about it anyways (more on that in a bit), and he'd also put me on line tomorrow night, just to mix things up a bit. So I grabbed a headset, and for the next hour and a half, switched between doing drive through stuff, washing whatever dishes had been brought back, helping Steve on line, and taking front cash when Jerome was busy.
Things died down at 10 though, so me and Steve took the opportunity to go out and sit down in the dining room. Then he started going on (once again) about how the day people don't do anything (dishes especially), and also if, one night, we were to come in and find the dishes piled up at the back, we could refuse to do them, because they "create an unsafe work environment". WTF? Josh said it to me when he pulled me aside in the hall the other night, and I'll say it again: it's truly amazing, the lengths to which that guy will go to get out of doing work. Yeah, what he said could be true, in a sense, but at base, if we could refuse to do the dishes because they were making things unsafe, then it makes sense that everyone else could as well, and they'd never get done. Weird.
From then 'till close though, we pretty much just took and made orders as they came in, cleaned things up, and otherwise just sat down to relax. Then at 1:45 or so, the guy that fills the CO2 or whatever for the pop pulled in, effectively blocking off the drive through, so Jerome just said we were closed. We got out of there at 2:15, which is pretty good. It's Jerome, me, and John closing tomorrow night (starting at 7, 8, and 9 respectively), so hopefully we aren't too busy :3 Thing about tomorrow is they have 8 people working over supper. In the words of Steve, if the dishes are piled up when I walk in, there's going to be problems.
And as for Glenda, no clue what happened yet. Steve did say that she doesn't have another job yet, so that possibility's been eliminated. He thought she quit as well though, so that very well could've been what happened. I figure I'll wait, probably 'till Friday or Saturday, then email Ange to see what Glenda's MSN is. Obviously, nobody else can say why she quit (privacy and whatnot), but she can if she wants to, so that seems to be the only way.
I do plan on heading to Heart and Stroke (well, I told Michele I'd be in :p) today, and it's 5 in the morning, so I think it's time I went upstairs~
